Our Newport Vacay

We’ve officially made it through our first summer break as Arizonans! With it being our first summer living here and the kids’ school moving towards a year round schedule, summer seemed to fly by. I’m not complaining though! The kids were so excited to go back to school and we have some fun projects we started around the house! But before Summer was over, we went on a little Newport Vacay!

But, I’m just now getting the chance to recap our time spent in Southern California! To escape the summer heat for a little bit, we decided to take our new trailer to one of our favorite places: Newport Beach! We absolutely love the Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort. It’s so beautiful, right on the water, and there’s so much for the kids to do!

In true Webb fashion, we drove out there without a clear plan. All of the RV and Trailer parks we called were booked, so we just decided to wing it. We drove to Newport Dunes and luckily they had a couple cancellations for the days we needed a spot and we got to stay!

Like I said, there’s so much for the kids to do at Newport Dunes, and since you’re right on the water, you don’t have to worry about driving to the beach. They even have a full inflatable obstacle course type thing on the water! It’s also in such a great location! We were able to ride our bikes to so many places, including Balboa Island.

There was never a shortage of things to do. We skated, biked, and skateboarded down the beach trail, went to the Balboa Fun Zone, and even rented a boat to take out for a little bit. We also got to stop by one of my favorite places, Lido Marina Village. If you’re ever in Newport, it’s definitely worth checking out Lido. All of the stores have such cute stuff and the whole area is beautiful! We ate at Malibu Farms and it was so good!

No Newport vacay is complete without stopping by Sugar N’ Spice on Balboa Island and grab one of their original Balboa Bars or a frozen banana! And better yet, enjoy it while taking in all of the dreamy beach houses!

What’s a Southern California trip without a Disneyland stop?! We made a pit stop here for two days before heading home and had the best time as always. The craziest part was that both Sav and Hunt lost teeth at Disneyland on the same day! Like how does that happen? Hunter literally lost his, which is unfortunately a common thing for him [ lol ], but it was so cool for them both!

We had the best time in Orange County this summer and we seriously can’t wait to go back! The dream would be to one day own a beach house there, but that’s further down the road but until then, see you next time Newport!

We’re thinking next year we might plan out and rent a spot at Newport Dunes for a month or two to escape the AZ summer heat!
